Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh met with an election observation mission from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation as part of preparations for the country’s upcoming presidential elections.
During the meeting, Guelleh expressed appreciation for the organization’s role in monitoring the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in ensuring transparency and credibility. The OIC mission said its presence aims to support member states in strengthening democratic practices in line with the principles of the organization’s charter.
The delegation also conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Hissein Brahim Taha for the successful conduct of the elections, noting that a smooth electoral process would contribute to stability and security in the region and reinforce confidence in democratic institutions.
