Shanghai Disneyland’s re-opening tickets had been sold out for May 11-17 in just three minutes, Chinese third-party ticket sellers Fliggy and MeiTuan confirmed.
Tickets for the early days of the Shanghai Disneyland reopening in China were quickly sold out on Friday, according to the park's website, as they prepare to end a three-month closure due to a coronavirus outbreak.
Tickets for May 11, the first day of the park no longer welcomed guests, until May 14 online reservation was completely sold out.
Shanghai Disneyland was first closed on January 25, as public places across China were shut down to comply with nationwide preventive measures.
Disney subsequently closed its other resorts around the world as the coronavirus spread, losing nearly $ 1 billion in profits.
Disneyland reopens with new preventive measures
Last month, Disney reopened some of the dining and shopping attractions in Shanghai, although its main theme park remained closed.
Bob Chapek, Disney's CEO said on Tuesday that the Chinese government has asked Disney to limit the attendance of the reopening to 30% or nearly 24,000 people.
He said that Disney will resume its operations 'much lower' than this number for a few weeks while adapting to new preventive measures including social distancing, masks and temperature checks for visitors and employees.
