Disney Unveils First Poster for "Cruella"

On Tuesday, Disney unveiled on social media the first poster for the live-action origin story of "Cruella", which is set to be released on May 28.

"Hello, Cruel World. New Trailer Tomorrow," the studio captioned on Instagram.

The movie is set in be set in the 1970s and highlights how the eponymous villain Cruella de Vil (Emma Stone) became someone who thought it was a good idea to try and murder dozens of puppies to make a new outfit.

It also stars Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Mark Strong, and others.

The crime comedy is directed by Craig Gillespie and from a screenplay written by Aline Brosh McKenna, Jez Butterworth, Kelly Marcel, Tony McNamara, Dana Fox, and Steve Zissis.

The production was announced in 2011 with Andrew Gunn hired to produce the film and Glenn Close, who played the titular character in the 1996 live-action remake and its sequel, serves as an executive producer.

In January 2016, Stone was cast in the titular role.
