Discover Hany El Behairy’s New Upcoming Projects

Whenever the month of December arrives, fashion lovers look forward to knowing the date for Egyptian international designer Hany El-Behairy's fashion show in Egypt, which is taking place on December 23 this year.

El-Behairy announced the details of his fashion show at a press conference held in a downtown hotel, his cooperation with international hair expert Mohamed El Sagheer, and stylist and the fur designer Jessie Nassif, who will provide the fur pieces for his winter designs.

This will be the international designer’s 100th fashion show in his career, which is filled with success, fame and, most importantly, continuous hard work.

It will feature about 75 chicest fashion items for the year 2020, including about 5 pieces from his new fashion line with renowned actress Raja al-Jeddawi.

El Behairy's new fashion line addresses women over the age of forty and combines the ideas and experience of the renowned actress with his work and designs.

The press conference also included the signing of a cooperation protocol between El-Behairy and four governmental bodies affiliated with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, which were the Chamber Of Apparel and Home Textiles, Industrial Modernization Centre, Fashion and Design Center, and the Egyptian Association for Research and Training Services (TrainTex).

“This protocol took a great time to come to light,” El Behairy stressed, “its first goal is to create a new generation that is capable of continue to work in the fashion field in Egypt, who have a great deal of talent, awareness, and preparations harvested from the experiences of these four bodies, in addition to, my expertise in fashion”.

Dr. Mohamed Abdel Salam, Chairman of the Chamber Of Apparel and Home Textiles, confirmed that the protocol signed between all parts is the fulfillment of a dream that was just an idea put forward last year during the press conference held for 2019’s fashion show.

He continued: “We held many work sessions, hearings, and discussions over the year to come up with this protocol that aims to supply the labor market with cadres capable of innovation and keeping pace with development and prepare a new generation of young designers to enhance the design capabilities of the fashion industry in Egypt, which enhances the fields of youth employment, increasing competitiveness, and entrepreneurship, in line with the country’s vision of development in the present and the future.”

* Traineeship

The Chamber Of Apparel and Home Textiles is setting the general framework for the training program as well as setting the development of performance measurement standards.

The fashion designer will provide, alongside his expertise, full supervision for the financial support program for two trainees (a grant), in addition to the overall supervision of all the training stages, as well as hold practical training program at his atelier for 3 months period (at the minimum).

Furthermore, the fashion and design center will hold a practical training and provide tools and equipment for the use, as well as provide guidance and technical consultancy necessary for training, in addition to training on pattern and sewing, and in making prototypes.

On the other hand, the Industrial Modernization Center will provide appropriate training rooms for 20 trainees to practice the program’s theoretical training within 60 training hours at the Creative Hub Egypt headquarter in New Cairo.

* Technical and vocational training

The Egyptian Association for Research and Training Services (TrainTex) will prepare the training content, the number of daily training hours, as well as prepare the CVs of the coaches nominated to hold the technical and vocational training.

The association will also prepare, design, and implement tests for the nominated trainees.

The chairman stressed that the opening of the nomination period for young designers will open soon to undergo the necessary tests to join the program and training.

The chamber, El Sagheer, and the chairman will sponsor two talented trainees, like El Behairy did, to achieve social equality for the trainees.

On his part, Abdel Salam affirmed that along the length of the training period his company will provide special fabrics for the trainees in support of the young generation.

Mrs. Aida Zayed, Director of the Design and Fashion Center (FDC), expressed her happiness to participate in such a major project as a competent authority in this field.

She added that the presence of a symbol like Hany El Behairy in this project enhances the imagination and confidence of the new generation; it also encourages them to achieve their dreams like their role model El Behairy.

The FDC is ready to present its expertise to a new generation in cooperation with the four entities to enhance the value of the industry in Egypt.
