Director Raed Labib dies after battle with cancer

Rowewned Egyptian director Raed Labib died Friday morning after a battle with cancer.

Labib announced on Facebook in February that was diagnosed with cancer.

Later on, the late director was hospitalized in a hospital in cair after the deterioration of his health condition.

He was one of the most important directors of his generation, whose work was characterized by a satirical comedic drama nature.

The late director's artistic career began in the late seventies as an assistant director in many works, including TV series “Hikayat Mizo” in 1977.

He made his directing debut with the 1984 TV series “Al-shahd wal-domou”,  which was followed by many hit series such as “Hind and Dr. Numan” and “Nus Ana.. Nus Huwa”.

Labib is also known for directing popular prank show “hidden camera”, which was presented by the late veteran actor Ibrahim Nasr.
