Amr Mahmoud Yassin, scriptwriter and son of late veteran Egyptian actor, Mahmoud Yassin, opened on Wednesday up on his father last hours, who passed away earlier that day at the age of 79.
During a phone-in interview, Amr revealed that the late actor suffered from pneumonia and not from the novel Coronavirus.
He stated that doctors told him that pneumonia when it affects the elderly, is dangerous, adding that Yassin was admitted to the hospital for the second time after his health deteriorated, and was put on a ventilator.
Amr continued: "When his blood pressure decreased, the doctors made several attempts to it but to no avail. His heart muscle stopped at 6 am and God’s command was fulfilled,".
He revealed that Yassin's condition improved days before his death and that his memory was at its best.
"We thought that his condition had improved and that he would leave the hospital, but his condition deteriorated again, and when I saw him the day before his death, I realized that he was dying," Amr added.
