Multiple reports have been circulating on social media over the past hours of veteran actress Abla Kamel has retired from acting.

Kamel previously told “Youm 7” years ago that if she retired from acting, she will declare it.

The veteran actress is known for her complete seclusion and lack of making media appearances, including in various media outlets such as TV channels, newspapers, and even social media.

She was always remained hidden, even when she was filming a new artistic production.

The reports have sparked a great controversy due to the mixed news, as some reports claimed that she has retired from acting, while news outlet claimed it to be rumors.

Prominent director Hosny Saleh revealed on "Facebook” that the actress has not retired.

“Abla Kamel does not have an account on Facebook or Twitter, and will not retire tomorrow 6/30.”.

Furthermore, multiple sources stated that her phones are closed as they tried to contact her for the participation in artistic work, however, they failed to reach her.

Kamel made her latest appearance in the 2018 TV series "Selsal Al-Dam 5", and made her latest film appearance in the 2010 film “Al-Kibar”, about 10 years ago.

The actress has made her way into the audiences’ hearts as soon as she starred in the first role. Kamel makes you feel that she is your mother with her affectionate voice and genuine and kind feelings.

She is different from the artists of her generation because she makes an effort to persuade the audience of the role she plays.

It is worth mentioning that Abla Kamel Mohamed Afifi, known as Abla Kamel, is an Egyptian veteran actress.

Kamel, born on September 17, 1960, in Beheira Governorate, Egypt, had participated in nearly 100 artistic works.

In 1984, the actress graduated from the Faculty of Arts Department of Libraries and started her career in the El Taliaa theater.

Kamel made her first appearance in a monodrama entitled, “Nouba sahyen”, then collaborated with veteran actor Mohamed Sobhy in the 1989 play “Weghet Nazar”.

She also participated in several plays by Lenin El-Ramly.

Kamel married actor Ahmad Kamal, with whom she had two daughters. She later married late actor Mahmoud El Gendy in 2004.

However, the couple’s marriage did not last for two years, as they announced their separation in 2005.
