A 13.15-carat Fancy Vivid pink diamond ring, ranked “as one of the most important coloured diamonds ever to appear on the market” and expected to fetch up to $35 million, has been withdrawn without explanation from Christie’s Magnificent Jewels auction on December 6 in New York.

Christie’s confirmed that the extremely rare 13.15-carat, VVS1 clarity, potentially Internally Flawless diamond “had been pulled from the sale, but declined to elaborate,” according to IDEX Online.

On November 8, at its Magnificent Jewels auction, Christie’s Geneva offered an 18.18-carat gem called “Fortune Pink” – the largest pear-shaped fancy vivid pink diamond ever to be auctioned, with an estimate of $25 million to $35 million. The gem sold for $28.8 million, thus missing its high estimate of $35 million
