The Saudi Minister of Commerce, Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi, inaugurated the HRD Antwerp Arabian Diamond Company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Nizar Mukhtar, a member of the National Committee for Precious Metals, and a member of the Gold and Jewelry Committee in Riyadh said that the HRD Diamond Laboratories in Antwerp, Belgium, which is specialized in examining and evaluating diamonds besides education and training, has opened its first laboratory for assessing and examining diamonds, as well as an institute for training in diamond and gem arts.
Mukhtar added that the Ministry of Commerce and the authorities concerned with the gold and jewelry industry are planning to expand the work of international diamond laboratories in the Kingdom, as they plan to contract with about 5 international laboratories in the diamond field during the next year.
