Egypt national team assistant coach, Diaa El-Sayed, praised Carlos Queiroz for what he did with the Pharaohs during his tenure.
Since taking charge of Egypt last September, Queiroz led the Pharaohs to the semi-finals of the Arab Cup in Qatar and the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
He was also close to the 2022 World Cup qualification but his side was eliminated after losing to Senegal in a penalty shootout.
El-Sayed said that the Portuguese coach earned everyone’s respect in the short period he was in charge of the national team.
The former Ceramica Cleopatra coach also defended his own role within the coaching staff, after receiving some criticism from fans and pundits alike.
“Anyone who questions my role in national team coaching staff, if they contact me, I would explain to them my role. But no one did. I’m not obliged to explain something that doesn’t need explaining,” El-Sayed told Arriyadia TV.
“Queiroz is a genius, a professor, and very respectful. There is a clear system within the technical staff of the Egyptian national team."
