Major General Mahmoud Tawfik, the Minister of the Interior, announced the annual police reshuffle for the year 2020, in the framework of strengthening and developing the police apparatus.
A few hours before the police reshuffle announcement, Tawfik met with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Ettahadiya presidential palace, eastern Cairo, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
“Within the framework of developing police work mechanisms to face the current security challenges and all forms of crime, the police officers' promotions and transfers reshuffle for the year 2020 came in line with the state’s policy and orientations in promoting the young cadres to benefit from them in all areas of security work,” a statement by the Interior Ministry read on Saturday.
The statement added that this year’s annual police reshuffle aims to prepare a new generation of young leaders as the nucleus of future police leadership.
