The new King and Queen of Denmark, King Frederik X, and his wife Australian-born Queen Mary, will conduct their first international tour after their proclamation in May, the Danish Palace announced on Friday.
The first visit of the Danish monarchs will be to Scandinavian countries, as it is a tradition among the Danish monarchs to visit Scandinavian countries first.
Although the couple will have their first overseas trip in May, King Frederik had a solo visit to Poland last week which was planned before his mother, Queen Margrethe II, surprising abdication in a New Year’s Eve address.
During their first trip as a king and queen, Frederik and Mary will first travel to Stockholm to meet with Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf and German-Brazilian-born Queen Silvia.
After that, they will travel to Oslo, where they will be welcomed by King Harald V and Queen Sonja.
