Denmark has launched construction of a solid rocket fuel production facility that will supply Ukraine’s defense sector, the Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs announced on Monday.

The plant, to be built in southern Denmark, will operate under the Ukrainian defense company Fire Point. Industry Minister Morten Bødskov laid the ceremonial foundation stone in the town of Vojens, joined by Haderslev Mayor Mads Skau and Fire Point’s new director, Vyacheslav Bondarchuk.

According to Danish broadcaster DR, the facility will be named FPRT. Bondarchuk noted that the fuel produced there will be used in missiles and drones deployed along the Ukrainian front. He stressed that the plant poses no risk to nearby residents and that full-scale production is expected to begin in 2026.

Denmark’s parliament passed legislation on 9 September allowing the defense minister to fast-track construction of military-related facilities by bypassing regulatory hurdles that could delay such projects. Reports indicate that 22 laws and regulations will be suspended to expedite the building of the new Fire Point facility.

The plant marks a significant step in Denmark’s expanding defense cooperation with Ukraine as the war enters a prolonged phase and Kyiv seeks to strengthen domestic production of advanced weaponry.
