The Dutch Ministry of Defense has announced that the Netherlands and Denmark plan to deliver Leopard-2 tanks to Ukraine by the end of summer.
According to the statement, both countries purchased a total of 14 Leopard-2 A4 tanks over the past year.
These tanks are used models that have been refurbished by the German company Rheinmetall. Currently, two of these tanks are undergoing final verification tests, while 12 have already been prepared for shipment.
All 14 tanks are expected to be delivered together by the end of the summer.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously commented on Western military aid, stating that "Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and Leopard tanks burn well, as we expected."
He further claimed that the Russian T-90 Proryv is the best tank in the world and suggested that opposing tanks and armored vehicles would retreat upon encountering it.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian troops had captured several Leopard tanks and Bradley armored vehicles supplied by the West to Ukraine.
Some of these vehicles were found to have operational engines, indicating that Ukrainian soldiers had abandoned their equipment and fled the battlefield.
