Hundreds of angry demonstrators stormed the US Congress building in Washington, demanding an end to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

The protesters denounced the massacres committed by Israel against the Palestinians in the Strip, according to American media reports.

The demonstrators took over the large rotunda in the Cannon House office building.

The demonstration was launched at the invitation of an American Jewish movement advocating peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

The demonstrators wore black T-shirts reading "Jews say ceasefire now" and carried posters with messages such as "Let Gaza Live."

The demonstrators also carried banners reading "Stop shooting" and "Not in our name."

Last Saturday, hundreds of members of the Jewish community in New York organized a protest called by the "Jewish Voice for Peace" organization, to declare their position rejecting the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

Capitol Police arrested about 100 people, and the police said of the mass arrests: “We warned the demonstrators to stop demonstrating, and when they did not comply, we began arresting them.”

Some Democrats accused Israel of committing a war crime by deliberately targeting a hospital.
