Delta Airlines announced on Tuesday the suspension of its flights between New York's John F. Kennedy Airport and Tel Aviv until the end of March 2025 due to the ongoing conflict in the region and growing security concerns in Israel.
The airline had previously halted flights to Tel Aviv through the end of 2024 but has now extended the suspension.
The heightened fears surrounding the conflict's expansion have prompted many airlines to suspend or prolong existing flight cancellations to Israel.
Several countries have also advised their citizens to avoid traveling to Lebanon or leave the region, while nations like the UK, France, and Canada have implemented evacuation measures for their nationals.
Earlier reports from Israeli media indicated that only around 20 airlines are still operating flights to and from Israel, a sharp decline from the more than 150 airlines active before October 7.
