Dell Technologies has announced plans to lay off about 12,500 employees across various departments.
Global Sales and Customer Engagement Head Bill Scannell, along with Global Channels and Distribution Executive John Byrne, communicated to staff that the company aims to accelerate market growth by focusing on developing "modern IT systems and artificial intelligence."
As a result, the company may reduce its workforce by 10%, bringing the total number of employees to below 100,000.
This announcement comes shortly after Intel revealed its plan to lay off around 15,000 employees following a 26% drop in its stock value due to issues with its Raptor Lake processors.
Notably, Dell also reduced its workforce by about 13,000 employees last year, continuing its trend of strategic workforce adjustments.
