A group of US senators sent a message of support to Taiwan during a visit to the island hours ago.
The delegation warned China to pay a higher price for bullying Taiwan. Beijing has responded to false signals from the United States with a display of its military might.
Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen told members of the US delegation that Russia's invasion of Ukraine demonstrated that democracies must strengthen their alliances and that we can collectively defend ourselves from threats posed by authoritarian states seeking to destabilize regional peace.
Members of the US delegation, including Senator Lindsay Graham, stated that the United States OF America (USA) will begin to make China pay a higher price for bullying Taiwan and supporting the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
On the other hand, the Chinese People's Liberation Army announced that it conducted air and sea exercises near Taiwan yesterday in response to the "false signals sent by the United States."
A Chinese military spokesman said ships, bombers, and fighters took part in the exercises and stressed that the military would remain on high alert to protect national sovereignty and regional peace.
