General Abdel Meguid Sakr, Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting Egypt, at the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense.
The meeting addressed a number of topics of mutual interest on both regional and international levels, as well as their implications for security and stability in the region.
Sakr emphasized the depth of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States, praising the growing prospects for cooperation in various military and training fields to serve the common interests of both nations.
For his part, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State lauded Egypt's influential and active role in its regional and international surroundings, as well as its tireless efforts to achieve security and stability in the Middle East and Africa.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, along with several senior military commanders and the Chargé d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo.
