Defense Minister, LNA Deputy Commander Hold Talks in Cairo

​General Abdel-Meguid Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, met with General Saddam Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), during his current visit to Egypt.

The meeting focused on military cooperation between the armed forces of both countries, as well as the latest regional and international developments and their implications for regional security and stability.

​In a related context, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, met with the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army. 

An official reception ceremony was held at the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense, where military bands played the national anthems of both nations.

​The meeting addressed several files and topics of mutual interest in light of strengthening bilateral military relations. 

The Chief of Staff expressed his pride in the deep-rooted ties between the Egyptian and Libyan armed forces, noting the General Command's keenness to enhance cooperation in various military fields. 

Moreover, he emphasized the importance of concerted efforts to confront all threats that could undermine the security and stability of the Libyan state.

​For his part, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army expressed his appreciation for Egypt's role in supporting the Libyan people and preserving the integrity and unity of their territory, praising Egypt's constant efforts to establish the foundations of security and stability in the region.

​The meetings were attended by several high-ranking commanders from both the Egyptian and Libyan armed forces.
