Mohamed Zaki, Egypt's Minister of Defense held talks on Wednesday with Lebanese Army Commander General Joseph Aoun, who is currently visiting Egypt, on an official visit that will last for several days.
They discussed ways to boost military cooperation between both countries, in addition to a number of key issues in light of the current regional and international developments.
At the outset of the meeting, Zaki hailed the depth of relations between the Egyptian and Lebanese armed forces, expressing his aspiration that the next stage would witness more joint cooperation in various military fields.
On his part, the Lebanese Army Commander praised Egypt's leading role in the region and the Egyptian Armed Forces' role in developing its combat capabilities to maintain Egypt's national security.
The meeting was attended by a number of senior military leaders.
