General Abdel Meguid Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, sent a cable of congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, on the occasion of the New Year 2026.

As Egypt welcomes a new year, it moves forward with steadiness and determination toward consolidating the pillars of the modern state under your wise leadership, insightful vision, and firm resolve, which have safeguarded the nation, preserved its resources, and upheld the banners of peace, stability, and development despite the magnitude of the challenges," he wrote.
"On this occasion, the men of the Armed Forces and I pledge to Your Excellency to continue working with all sincerity and loyalty to fulfill the duties and responsibilities entrusted to us. We remain committed to ensuring that the Armed Forces continue to be a strong shield protecting the homeland and safeguarding its sanctities and achievements, and an impregnable fortress for the security and stability of the great Egyptian people. In a related context, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, sent a similar cable of congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on the same occasion.
