Egypt's Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki met with Grant Shapps, British Minister of Defense and his accompanying delegation currently visiting Egypt.

The meeting discussed the developments of the current situation in the Middle East, as well as bilateral cooperation relations, topics of common interest, and exchange of experiences between the armed forces of both sides.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces expressed his pride in the long-standing relations that bring the two friendly countries together in various fields, pointing to the importance of coordinating visions and joint efforts to avoid the ongoing escalation and support efforts for security and stability in the region.

For his part, British Defense Minister praised the active Egyptian role in its regional environment, especially with the continuation of the current crisis in the Gaza Strip and its repercussions on regional and international security and stability.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, a number of military leaders, and the British Ambassador to Cairo.
