The Egyptian Military Spokesman Gharib Abdel Hafez, announced that, within the ongoing investigations into the two accidents of a foreign object falling in Nuweiba and a piloted drone in Taba, and by analyzing and gathering information, the results of the investigations revealed that two piloted drones were heading from the south the Red Sea to the north, where one of them was targeted outside Egyptian airspace in the Gulf of Aqaba region, resulting in some of its debris falling in an uninhabited area in Nuweiba, in addition to the other falling in Taba.
Earlier, the state-run ِAl-Qahera News Channel reported that a “foreign object” had fallen near a power station in the nearby town of Nuweiba.
Video footage showed debris and smoke rising from the side of a nearby mountain.
The incident in Nuweiba comes hours after a drone fell in the Taba region in Egypt, according to what the Egyptian Armed Forces spokesman said on Friday.
Egypt's military said a drone crashed into a building in the Red Sea town of Taba, on the border with Israel, slightly wounding six people.
The channel did not provide additional details about any injuries resulting from the Nuweiba incident or additional information about possible damage.
The Israeli Army said that the debris comes after the IDF managed to destroy threats comming from the Red Sea. “Israel will work with Egypt, and the United States, and bolster regional defences against threats from the Red Sea region.”
The video shows a fighter-jet striking the foreign object, which exploded in the sky, and did not cause an explosion on ground.
The spokesman said that the Air Force and Air Defense Forces are intensifying work to secure Egyptian airspace on all strategic directions of the country.
