Turkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management authority (AFAD) announced that the death toll from the earthquake that struck the country on February 6 has risen to 47,975.
More than 13 million people in Turkey were affected by the earthquakes. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pledged yesterday to rebuild the affected areas after completing the removal of rubble.
It is worth noting that more than 160,000 buildings, including 520,000 apartments, collapsed or were severely damaged in the disaster, which is the worst in the country's contemporary history.
