The Philippine National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management has confirmed that the death toll from Tropical Storm "Paeng" which struck the country recently has risen to 150.
The council mentioned - as reported by the Philippine channel "ABS-CBN", today, Thursday, that there are still at least 36 people missing, noting that 128 others were wounded as a result of the strong storm.
More than 3.96 million people were affected by the storm, as tens of thousands fled to temporary evacuation centers, and 15,162 homes were damaged.
Moreover, the hurricane caused huge losses to crops, agricultural land, and fish farms, estimated at 2.74 billion Philippine pesos, and affected about 75 thousand farms and fish farms and more than 82 thousand hectares of agricultural land, according to the council.
Accordingly, residents in the capital's coastal area have been evacuated and many schools have been closed.
