The Philippine Civil Defense Office announced today, Wednesday, that the death toll from severe floods caused by bad weather across the country has risen to 30.
The office said- in a statement reported by the Philippine (ABS-CBN) channel - that more than a million people have been affected by the bad weather conditions that have affected the country since January 2, leaving 13 injured and 5 people missing, while more than 200,000 people were displaced due to the floods after they had to flee their homes.
The office stated that the displaced and affected population includes 13 regions across the islands of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, noting that about 1,292 homes were destroyed, and 35 roads and 10 bridges were damaged.
