Death Toll from Paeng Storm in Philippines Rises to 155

The Philippine National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management has announced that the death toll from Tropical Storm "Paeng (Nalgae)" that struck the country recently has risen to 155.

The council said - in a report broadcast by the Philippine channel (ABS-CBN) today, Saturday, that 129 other people were injured, while 34 people are still missing.

The council added that out of the 1.2 million Filipinos affected by the storm, one million people were displaced from their homes and 1,038 people are still living in evacuation centers until this moment.

Storm "Paeng" hit parts of the Philippines last week, where the majority of damage and casualties were recorded in the "Bangsamoro" autonomous region.
