The death toll from an Israeli drone strike in eastern Lebanon has risen to six, with ten others injured, Lebanese authorities confirmed on Thursday. The strike targeted a vehicle on the Al-Masnaa International Road in the Bekaa region.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), citing the Ministry of Health, the final toll from the Israeli drone attack was six dead and ten wounded.

A senior official from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) revealed that among the dead were Abu Khalil Washah, a member of the group’s Central Committee, and his aide. Both were killed when their car was hit on the Al-Masnaa Road.

Earlier the same day, a Lebanese citizen was killed in an Israeli strike on Kfardan, west of Baalbek in eastern Lebanon. The NNA reported that “an enemy drone targeted a civilian in front of his home in the town of Kfardan, killing him instantly.”

In a separate incident, a Syrian national was killed and two others wounded in Israeli airstrikes on the town of Deir Siryan in southern Lebanon’s Nabatieh Governorate.

Israel launched its assault on Lebanon on October 8, 2023, escalating into a full-scale war by September 23, 2024. The conflict has since killed more than 4,000 people and injured around 17,000, according to official figures.

A ceasefire agreement took effect on November 27, 2024, but Israel has violated it more than 3,000 times, resulting in 276 deaths and 580 injuries. Despite the agreement, the Israeli army carried out a partial withdrawal from southern Lebanon, but continues to occupy five Lebanese hills seized during the latest war.
