The death toll from severe floods and landslides in southern Ethiopia has risen to 80 people, according to local reports.
Many others are still missing, while thousands have been displaced as search and rescue operations continue in the affected areas.
Local media reported that the House of Peoples' Representatives of Ethiopia has declared three days of national mourning starting Saturday in response to the disaster.
Meanwhile, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization, said the organization has deployed rapid response teams to the affected regions to support local health authorities and assist communities impacted by the floods and landslides.
