Disney's detective thriller "Death on the Nile", the star-studded sequel to “Murder on the Orient Express”, was pushed back to a February 2022 release date, according to multiple reports on Tuesday.

"Death on the Nile" stars Gal Gadot, Leticia Wright, Kenneth Branagh, Armie Hammer, Tom Bateman, Annette Bening and others.

The movie is set on a glamorous river cruise down the Nile and sees Detective Poirot's luxurious holiday become a murder investigation when someone on the boat turns up dead.

"Death on the Nile" was initially scheduled for a December 2019 release date but was postponed multiple times due to the coronavirus pandemic and underperformances at the box office.

The movie was set to be released on Dec. 20, 2019 through 20th Century Studios, but was pushed back to Oct. 9, 2020 release date and then rescheduled once again to Oct. 23 and Dec. 18.

In addition to the pandemic, the movie's lead character is now at the forefront of issues back at home as cannibalism claims came to light late last year for Hammer.

"Death on the Nile" was then completely removed from the theatrical release schedule in November 2020 — along with "Free Guy", until the following month when it was given a Sept. 17, 2021 release date.
