A residential building in Beirut was reduced to rubble following an Israeli strike, as emergency crews race to locate survivors feared trapped beneath the debris.
The strike hit a 10-story building in the Talet El Khayat district, near the headquarters of Télé Liban, causing its total collapse, according to local reports.
Teams from the Lebanese Civil Defense are continuing search-and-rescue operations, carefully clearing rubble in a complex and dangerous environment. Units from the Lebanese Armed Forces have also been deployed to the site after reports of an unexploded missile lodged beneath the wreckage.
Authorities said strict safety and medical protocols are in place to protect responders as operations continue.
The strike forms part of a broader wave of attacks that have struck more than seven areas across Beirut in recent hours, marking one of the most intense escalations since Israeli military operations in Lebanon began on March 2.
According to the Civil Defense, at least 254 people have been killed and more than 1,100 injured. Preliminary estimates indicate the death toll could rise to around 300, with nearly 1,300 wounded.
The scale of the destruction highlights the intensifying nature of the conflict, raising growing concerns over civilian casualties and the widening humanitarian impact in the Lebanese capital.
