The administration of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos has rejected accusations that it sought to undermine Danish sovereignty by inviting representatives from Greenland to participate in the annual forum.
In a statement, the forum said the invitation extended to Greenlandic representatives was not intended to challenge Denmark’s sovereignty or its territorial integrity.
The Davos administration reaffirmed its full respect for Denmark’s unity and sovereignty, calling on Danish authorities to engage in direct dialogue to overcome the current dispute.
The statement came after Denmark announced its decision to boycott the forum, arguing that the invitations violated diplomatic norms and interfered in sovereign affairs.
