Today, Yara Khawaja, the daughter of a Lebanese MP, was injured in the explosions that rocked Aden airport, coinciding with the arrival of the new Yemeni government.

Khawaja, the spokeswoman for the International Red Cross in Yemen, and the daughter of MP Muhammad Khawaja, in the Development and Liberation Bloc headed by Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, was injured while at the airport to return to Beirut.

Activists who were able to communicate with her family confirmed that she is in good health and that she is receiving treatment in the hospital after losing her phone during the explosion.

Khawaja posted a picture of her on her Twitter and Facebook accounts while she was being interviewed by one of the TV channels.

During the interview, the ICRC's spokesperson said “Yesterday, in my last interview about the humanitarian situation in Yemen, I said  I have never experienced the tragedy that this beautiful country is suffering. All media platforms in the world are narrating the agony of Yemenis. I wish Yemeni to achieve stability."

Earlier, Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi directed the formation of a committee to investigate the repercussions of the criminal act that targeted Aden airport.

In a press statement, he said, "The terrorist acts perpetrated by the Houthi militia and extremist terrorist groups will not deter the legitimate government from exercising its duties from the temporary capital, Aden."

Two explosions, accompanied by gunfire, occurred at Aden airport, upon the arrival of the government plane, resulting in an unknown number of dead and wounded.

The attack was met with widespread condemnation, and demands for urgent international actions to hold the perpetrators accountable, and those who support them with money and weapons, in accordance with international and humanitarian law.
