Czech Republic’s government approved sending an additional package of military aid to Ukraine, worth more than CZK 8 million (335,000 euros).

The Czech News Agency (CTK) reported that the package includes ammunition and chemical protection equipment.

The Czech authorities will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine, according to the news agency.

Petr Fiala, the Czech Prime Minister said previously that Prague was among the first countries that provided military support to Kyiv.

In the same vein, The US State Department had previously said that Washington is prepared to provide $1.5 billion per month to support the Ukrainian government.

This was announced by Dereck Hogan, the principal deputy assistant secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs on Monday at a conference at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington.

According to the US official, the United States should “think in the medium and long term” about how to help Ukraine.

He pointed out that to help Ukraine in the medium term, the efforts of the US are focused, especially on maintaining the continuity of the Ukrainian government.

Last month, the Czech Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs said more than 50,000 refugees from Ukraine have already started work in the Czech Republic.

“The humanitarian year-long visas refugees receive, guarantee them status on the labor market as Czech citizens or permanent residents. Most of them have reportedly filled long-term vacancies,” Radio Prague said on Wednesday.
