Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský has announced that the Czech Republic will not deport Ukrainians wanted for military service in their home country.

The Ukrainian government, led by President Zelensky, has been striving to conscript 500,000 individuals to address significant human losses in their armed forces.

Czech television network CTV quoted Lipavský as saying, "The Czech Republic will not return Ukrainians of conscription age to their homeland due to military conscription.

Such mechanisms do not exist in our country, and conscription does not comply with the international rights and obligations held by the Czech Republic on the international stage."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had called on Ukrainians of conscription age who are currently residing abroad to return to Ukraine in response to difficulties in achieving the conscription targets due to Ukrainians' reluctance to join the Kyiv forces.

The military leadership had requested Zelensky to conscript an additional 450,000 to 500,000 individuals following significant human losses during their "counteroffensive."
