Cyprus has strongly condemned the bombing that struck the Hejaz district in central Damascus two days ago.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery to those injured. The ministry also stressed the need for the immediate accountability of those responsible for the attack.
The statement reaffirmed Cyprus' support for Syria's stability, describing it as "a crucial element of regional security."
The bombing targeted a popular café in central Damascus, killing nine civilians and injuring at least 20 others.
