The Cypriot government on Sunday denied media reports and public statements claiming that missiles had been launched toward the country, saying there was no evidence of any threat to the island.

Government spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis said in a statement posted on X that reports referring to missile launches in the direction of Cyprus were inaccurate.

“In relation to statements and media reports referring to the launch of missiles towards the direction of Cyprus, it is clarified that this is not the case and there is no indication whatsoever that any threat to the country has occurred,” the spokesperson said.

He also noted that the country’s competent authorities are closely monitoring developments and remain in constant observation of the situation.

The clarification came after speculation circulated in media reports and online platforms suggesting that missile activity linked to regional tensions could pose a risk to Cyprus.

Officials emphasized that security agencies continue to assess developments in the region, while assuring the public that there is currently no indication of danger to the country.
