Cypriot Foreign Minister (FM) Constantinos Kombos has extended an invitation to U.S. President Donald Trump to visit Cyprus, according to the "Cyprus Mail".
Cypriot FM stated that if Trump accepts the invitation, he would become the first sitting U.S. President to visit the island, which has previously hosted two U.S. Vice Presidents.
Kombos highlighted Cyprus’s distinguished geopolitical and strategic location, noting its status as an attractive hub for business projects.
He also emphasized the advantages of Cyprus’s membership in the European Union, which adds a further dimension to the country’s appeal in terms of regulatory framework, free movement of capital, and the freedom to establish businesses.
The newspaper also noted that former U.S. Presidents Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter have all visited Cyprus, though those visits occurred outside their official terms in office.
