The Ministrie of Foreign Affairs and Communications announced the extension of the customs exemption period for mobile phones of Egyptians residing abroad from 90 to 120 days, effective April 1st. This move aims to facilitate services provided to them.
This announcement came during a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Communications, where they discussed enhancing cooperation in digital transformation and developing consular services, particularly through the Egypt Digital Platform, and expanding electronic services for Egyptians abroad.
The two sides also discussed supporting digital infrastructure and building capacity in the fields of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, in addition to continuing to provide authentication services via mail.
Following the meeting, a commemorative postage stamp was launched to mark the centenary of Egyptian diplomacy, celebrating the history and role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
