Sara Afifi, an Egyptian pastry chef and the professional Italian chef Stefano recently started an exciting new project: a YouTube channel called Culture Whisk.

Sara and Stefano met years ago and became friends. They are both talented chefs; Stefano in particular a pastry chef with experience in Michelin starred kitchens and chefs such as Gordon Ramsay

Egyptians and Italians can be very different depending on their family heritage, costumes, religion and national origin.

However, there are some cultural similarities that tend to bring these perse backgrounds together.

Their origins and backgrounds are quite different: Stefano is from Puglia in Southern Italy, a region known for its heritage, great coastline, historic ‘white towns’ and fantastic food such as orecchiette.

On the other hand, Sara is from Egypt, a country with a rich and ancient, majestic history and flavoursome cuisine.

It is their love of food and culture of Mediterranean cousins that got them together to create this enjoyable and fun channel.

They launched only a few months ago and already have a solid number of regular followers that love their video recipes.

According to the Middle East newspaper, they put together dishes that seemingly have nothing to do with one another, yet these two chefs find so many similarities!

This exchange of food, history, traditions and customs is the inspiration to create the episodes they regularly post on YouTube.

It's worth noting that they publish a new video each week as they venture on this culinary journey which embraces different foods and cultures.
