Culture Min. Launches Arts Academy Branches for Child, African Arts

For the first time, Ministry of Culture has opened branches of Arts Academy in Tanta, New Damietta, Borg El Arab and New Institutes for Child and African Arts.

In the Academy of Arts, Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, met Dr. Ashraf Zaki, head of the Academy and discussed a set of projects and decisions aimed at promoting creativity in all fields to spread enlightenment among youth.

Abdel Dayem said that the Egyptian culture has taken many serious steps in the way of developing and restructuring awareness, building inpidual and promoting the conscience of the community; as a result, a set of decisions of the Academy Council has been approved to achieve these goals.

She pointed out that the Academy represents an ancient edifice, aiming at preparing host of creative cadres to strengthen Egypt's soft power and to attract young talented people for future that is more brilliant.

Afterwards, she inspected the construction works in the ongoing attached school project- that is being built according to the international standards. It aims to achieve the balance and integration of the educational process between the primary, preparatory, secondary levels and the artistic programs of the Academy.

It is worthy of note that the meeting included the specification of some fixed assets of the General Organization Of Cultural Palaces – Headed by Dr. Ahmed Awwad, to maximize the use of these buildings to be one of the steps in the expansion of the branches of the Academy. The assets include:

-Princess Fayka Palace and its annexes.

- The establishment of a high institute of cinema in Borg El Arab.

- The establishment of two branches of the Academy in the two governorates of Al- Garbya -Tanta Culture Palace- and Damietta -New Damietta Culture Palace.

- The establishment of a higher institute for the studies of African arts to promote scientific and artistic research in the fields of studies of African arts.

-The establishment of free studies department, affiliated to the Higher Institute of Music- Conservatory, accepting the African student.

- The Board took a decision to start work in the new branches, starting from the academic year 2019-2020.

- establishing special unit for teaching languages and certificates of language proficiency.

It is worthy of note that the meeting was attended by Dr. Ghada Jabbara, Vice President of the Academy, Dr. Ashraf Heikal, Dean of the Higher Institute of Arabic Music, Dr. Medhat Al-Kashef, Acting Dean of the High Performing Arts Institute, Dr. Atef Awad, Acting Dean of the Higher Institute of Ballet Dr. Mohsen El Touny, Dean of the Higher Institute of Cinema, Dr. Mostafa Gad, Dean of the Higher Institute of Folklore, Dr. Mohamed Shabana, Dean of the Higher Institute of Children's Arts, Dr. Hanan Abou El Magd, Dean of the High Institute of the Conservatory, Dr. Nevine El Kilani, Dean of the Higher Institute of Art Criticism, and Dr. Ahmed Awwad, Heda of the General Organization Of Culture Palaces.
