Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, inaugurated an exhibition titled "Naguib Mahfouz – with the Seal". The exhibition will run until 8 September.
The event was organized by the Cultural Development Fund Sector in Mahfouz Museum in Tekkeyet Abou El Dahab.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Fathi Abdel Wahab, Head of the Sector, writer Youssef El-Qaed, Dr. Ashraf Zaki.
On her part, Abel Dayem, appreciated the idea of the exhibition, stressing that it represents an important step towards preserving the symbols of Egypt's soft power.
The exhibition was prepared by journalist Tarek El Taher and it contains more than 70 governmental documents bearing the seal of "the Egyptian eagle" taken from the book entitled "Khetm Al- Nisr"- The seal of the eagle. The book tackles Mahfouz personal life.
The expo depicts Mahfouz’s life starting from: the certificate of the primary school and shows the signature of "Mahfouz" in Arabic and foreign languages, his certificates in various stages until his BA from an Egyptian University, his functional administrative documents - including ministerial decisions of his presidency of the Cinema Foundation, financial disclosure endorsement, and the ministerial decision of appointing Mahfouz in the Directors Board of the Free Culture University -People's University.
This, in addition to many private papers such as: property list, work confidential reports, some decisions taken in his presidency of "The Artistic Censorship Authority" and some many other important decisions.
