Culture Min., EU Delegation Head Discuss Cultural, Artistic Cooperation

The head of the European Union delegation hailed the resumption of the creative activities in Egypt, with application the precautionary measures.

Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, received yesterday Ambassador Christian Berger, the head of the European Union delegation in Egypt, to discuss the ways of supporting the cultural and artistic cooperation between Egypt and the European Union, especially in light of Coronavirus pandemic.

During the meeting, Abdel Dayem assured Egypt's keenness to communicate with the European Union's countries in all fields.

Abdel Dayem indicated the depth of the cultural relations between Egypt and the countries of the European Union by enhancing the mutual participation in the various intellectual and artistic activities organized in Egypt or in Europe before Corona pandemic and until now.

It is worthy to note that the minister explained that many events were organized online, adding that soft power is a mean of achieving the rapprochement between the nations of the world; it is a bridge for exchanging various visions and experiences.

Furthermore, the minister stressed on the need to intensify cooperation in cultural and artistic projects between Egypt and the European Union.

On his part, the head of the European Union delegation stressed the importance of Egypt's pivotal role in cultural and artistic domains, as it is the oldest civilization in history.

He assured on his continuous follow-up to the cultural and creative movement hapenning in the Egyptian society, witnessing remarkable activities in all fields organized by all the Ministry of Culture's sectors via Internet.

He hailed the resumption of Egypt cultural and artistic activities in accordance with strict precautionary measures at the time that the world's theaters have stopped.

He added that culture and arts have pivotal role especially in the critical time the world is going through.

At the end of the meeting, the minister dedicated the head of the European Union's delegation a collection of the ministry's publications and invited him to visit Aisha Fahmy Palace and the Gallery of "Our Museums Treasures".

The Palace includes the works of a large group of European plastic art pioneers who lived in Egypt and who were obsessed with the Egyptian society.
