Culture Min. Launches Virtual Theatre Program Entitled “Think, Laugh, Know”

The Minister of culture announces the launch of virtual theatre performances programme, entitled “Laugh – Think – Know”, on the official channel of the ministry of culture on YouTube. This comes in the framework of the activities of the initiative “Culture between your hands”.

The program activities are presented by the Artistic House of Theater and the Egyptian National Theater.

The Minister of Culture launched the virtual program performances "Laugh - Think - know" that aims to present international works by the Egyptian creative style. The program will include participation of the Egyptian pioneers and symbols of theater who definitely would add a strong touch on these works.

The program is presented by The artistic House of theater , headed by the artist Ismail Mokhtar, representing "confrontation theater troupe" led by Sameh Bassiouni , in cooperation, with the National Theater Troupe, led by Ihab Fathi .

It will be broadcast on the ministry’s official YouTube channel on 8 June at 9:30 pm. It includes presenting an illustration by the Great director Jallal Al-Sharqawi , defining the works of the Russia playwright Anton Chekhov and he will shed light on his curriculum and his style.

 

The Minister of culture, Inas Abel Dayem , added that 10 theatre performances has been treated , inspired by a number of short stories by Russia playwright Anton Chekhov, and they will be performed from an Egyptian perspective.

Abdel Dayem clarified that the theatrical show aims to develop and enrich the activities of the initiative “Culture Between Your Hands”. It seeks to promoting awareness and increasing knowledge by presenting theatrical works from around the world.

 

The shows are an Egyptian representation of the original Russian plays, including creative commentary on the theatrical works and content analysis by the Egyptian theatrical icons: Jalal Sharkawi, Fahmy Al-Khulay, Essam El Sayed, Samir Al-Ashouri, Dr. Sanaa Shaza and others.

It is worthy of note that Chechov is one of the greatest short fiction writers in history, some also consider Chekhov to be the founder of the modern short story with his strong influence on a number of group of writers.

 

On his part, Bassiouni described the Russian way of chekhov, as a deceptively simple technique, and he is regarded as an outstanding representative of the late 19th-century Russian realist school.

Furthermore, the period of the shows ranges between 20 to 50 minutes, followed by an explanation of the approach of the author, followed by the analysis of the play.
