Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano, Minister of Culture, and Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, attended a celebration hosted by the Cultural Development Fund Sector, led by engineer Hamdi Al-Satouhi, on the occasion of the graduation of four batches of students from the "School of Religious Chanting", under the supervision of Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Tahami, the head of the chanters' union, at Al-Samar Theater in Agouza.
The ceremony were attended by writer Mohamed Abdel-Hafez Nasef, Vice President of the General Organization of Culture Palaces.
Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano, Minister of Culture, said that the ministry of culture appreciates the distinguished graduates who have delivered the message of valuable art and noble values.
He also appreciated the efforts of everyone who contributed to this achievement, starting with the great singer Mahmoud El-Tohamy, the founder of the school and its supervisor, and all the professors and trainers who did everything in their power to ensure the continuity of this ancient heritage.
The Minister of Culture stressed that the Ministry of Culture will continue to support all efforts and initiatives aimed at preserving heritage and promoting the arts, and will continue to promote cultural values that elevate Egypt’s status.
For his part, Sheikh Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, congratulated the graduates, stressing his pride and happiness with what was achieved, noting that these talents are an extension of the great singers, who will deliver the message of this art in the future.
The celebration was held for graduate the twentieth batch, named "Batch of Al-Maddah Ahmed Brin", the seventeenth batch, "Batch of Sheikh Saeed Hafez", the eighteenth batch, "Batch of Sheikh Abdul Rahim Duwaidar", and the nineteenth batch, "Batch of Al-Muhfiz Ahmed Abdullah", as each of these batches embodied a message of loyalty and appreciation for the names that lit up the sky of religious chanting with their creativity and dedication, and it is also a sign of hope for a new generation of pioneers in this religious artistic field.
The celebration included honoring the families of the sheikhs who bear the names of the four batches, in appreciation of what these figures have provided to religious art.
Founded by Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Tihamy in 2014, the “School of Religious Chanting” was established following the establishment of the Religious Chanting Syndicate.
The school aims to preserve and protect the art of chanting and supplications, as well as to refine the talent of chanters scientifically, by studying musical scales and their relationship to the art of chanting and supplications.
