Cuba has accused the United States of engaging in what it described as “criminal” behaviour that threatens global peace, amid escalating tensions over energy supplies and economic pressure.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla said on Sunday that Havana has not received any payments for security services provided to other countries, rejecting allegations linked to recent US statements. Writing on the social media platform X, Rodríguez said Cuba has the sovereign right to import fuel from any country willing to export it.

He added that Cuba has relied in recent years primarily on fuel imports from Venezuela and Mexico to meet its energy needs, amid longstanding US sanctions and economic constraints.

Rodríguez sharply criticized Washington’s policies, accusing the United States of acting in a “criminal” manner that endangers international stability and peace.

The comments came in response to remarks by US President Donald Trump, who urged Cuba to strike a deal with Washington and warned that it would no longer receive oil or financial support.

Posting on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote on Sunday: “No more oil or money for Cuba – zero. I strongly suggest they make a deal before it’s too late.” He added that Cuba had survived for years on large volumes of oil and financial assistance from Venezuela.
