A "Cruella" sequel is already in early development at Disney, with director Craig Gillespie and screenwriter Tony McNamara returning.

"Cruella" stars Emma Stone in the title role, an aspiring fashion designer who becomes the iconic Disney villain, Cruella de Vil.

The movie also stars Emma Thompson, Paul Walter Hauser, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste.

The production was released in theaters and on Disney+ (for the "Premier Access" price of $30) on May 28 and was incredibly well-received by audiences around the globe. It grossed $26.5 million at the North American box office over the four-day Memorial Day frame.

This will not be the first Disney’s live-action spinoffs to get a sequel, as most of its spinoffs have garnered sequels starting from "Maleficent" to "Aladdin", with the latter two in development.
