Croatia’s government has granted its approval for the training of Ukrainian service members on the territory of this country.

Defense Minister of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov announced the decision on Twitter, according to Ukrinform.

"A modern, well-trained army with powerful partners will definitely defeat a pack of Russian murderers, looters, and rapists,” Reznikov wrote.

The defense minister also thanked Croatia’s Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Defense Minister Mario Banožić for their support.

Oleg Nikolenko, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, said: "Zagreb is considering two options for helping Ukraine: training Ukrainian service members on the territory of Croatia and sending Croatian instructors to the territory of a third country.”

"We are not talking about Croatia's refusal to train the Ukrainian military. Indeed, in accordance with his authority, President Zoran Milanović rejected the request filed by the defense minister. At the same time, this does not mean that a decision will not be made," Nikolenko affirmed.
