The Coordination Committee of Party's Youth Leaders and Politicians (CPYP) in Egypt has expressed its unwavering support for the Egyptian government's stance in endorsing a letter to the United Nations that calls for a cessation of arms exports to the Israeli occupation.
In a statement, CPYP commended this initiative for its significant relevance, as it aligns with Egypt's longstanding commitment to advocating for the Palestinian cause and fostering peace.
Egypt has participated in a letter directed to the United Nations, urging a prohibition on the export of weapons to Israel that may be utilized against the Palestinian populace in the occupied territories, including Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem).
This letter, which is addressed to the UN Secretary-General, the President of the Security Council, and the President of the General Assembly, has been endorsed by 52 nations, along with the Arab League (AL) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates.
The ministry further noted that Egypt was instrumental in rallying support from various countries to sign the letter, which is part of broader international efforts aimed at pressuring Israel to cease its persistent violations of international law and humanitarian principles.
Additionally, Egypt has been urging the global community to fulfill its responsibilities in halting Israeli transgressions against the Palestinian people and to provide them with essential protection, as indicated by the ministry.
The letter underscores the grave violations of international law by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories and advocates for immediate actions to halt arms exports to Israel, viewing this as a crucial measure in accordance with relevant UN resolutions to end the serious abuses faced by the Palestinian people.
Moreover, the letter calls upon the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to fulfill its role in promoting international peace and security, and to implement concrete measures to safeguard civilians and ensure accountability.
